Designed by architects Fellheimer and Wagner (1927 - 1933) and is considered the firm's magnum opus. Fellheimer, known for designing train stations, was the lead architect for Grand Central Terminal (1903–1913). In 1930 Paul Philippe Cret was hired as a design consultant and altered the design, introducing the modern Art Deco elements and style.
